The SKS is a weapon designed in 1945 by Sergei Simonov. It was officially named Samozaryadnyi Karabin sistemi Simonova, 1945 (Semi-automatic Sarabine Simonov system 1945), or SKS 45. It was adopted in 1949 by the Red Army alongside the AK-47 assault rifle. The SKS 45 rifle is an opportunity for the shooter to find a reliable and robust weapon for shooting up to a distance of 100 meters. It is eligible for the regulatory weapon fire but will also offer pleasure for plinking and recreational shooting thanks to its flexible ammunition, which it shares with AK 47. Characteristics The SKS is a 7.62x39 mm semi-automatic rifle with a 10-stroke tilting charger. Its resetting takes place by a piston gas borrowing system, which makes it reliable despite the fouling. It is also a compact and easy-to-handle weapon. Its cannon ten and a half centimeters longer than the AK-47 offers greater accuracy and range. Most models have a foldable bayonet under the cannon, which it inherited from the Mosin-Nagant model 1944 rifle.
